BI Foundation and partners promote digital education and training
Guatemala, January 20, 2026. With the aim of strengthening education and reducing gaps in access to digital training in Guatemala, Fundación Bi signed a collaboration agreement with Empresarios por la Educación (Business Leaders for Education) and Fundación Zamora Terán.
This initiative is based on the shared vision and leadership of four strategic organizations in Guatemala and the region: the Latin American Business Council (CEAL), represented in this alliance by Empresarios por la Educación; Fundación Banco Industrial; and Fundación Zamora Terán. The coordination of these actors consolidates a regional commitment to education as a driver of development, inclusion, and social mobility.
As part of the agreement, the organizations formalized a partnership to implement the "One Laptop per Child – Conecta Aprende" educational program, benefiting 500 children in Guatemalan schools. This 1:1 model provides each student and teacher with an XO Pro laptop in order to transform teaching through innovative content and learning experiences. The project is complemented by training programs for teachers and parents, as well as a monitoring and evaluation system designed to personalize learning and measure the impact of the initiative.
The event took place at the Bi Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, with representatives from all three institutions in attendance, reaffirming their commitment to promoting education and technology through partnerships that have a positive impact on communities in the region.
The schools that will benefit from this project will be announced shortly.
