The Bi Foundation and the Mexican Embassy Inspire Young Soccer Players
Guatemala, April 22, 2026. In the run-up to the World Cup to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, a group of young female soccer players from Fundación Bi, hailing from Santa Cruz Naranjo, visited the Mexican Embassy in Guatemala.
The purpose of this gathering was to watch the documentary “Tan Cerca de las Nubes, ” a film that tells the story of Mexico’s first women’s national team and serves as an inspiration for young women to continue their athletic training with determination.
This activity is part of Fundación Bi’s “Crecer” initiative, which uses sports as a tool for holistic development and prevention among children and young people.
During the event, the athletes met with Mexican Ambassador Luz Elena Baños and María José Paiz, the manager of Fundación Bi, who emphasized the importance of these experiences in broadening the horizons of Guatemalan youth.
The visit gave the Santa Cruz Naranjo soccer players a deeper understanding of the transformative potential of women's soccer.
