Guatemala, April 18, 2024. The "Conexión Raíz" program is a transformative social initiative that seeks to promote economic, environmental and sociocultural development in Alta Verapaz through innovation, financial inclusion and the promotion of entrepreneurship.

The program will be implemented in the municipalities of San Cristóbal Verapaz and San Pedro Carchá, benefiting 100 local farmers over a two-year period.

"Root Connection" will significantly increase agricultural productivity through five key phases:

  1. Territorial recognition.
  2. Financial education and inclusion.
  3. Innovation and competitiveness in the field.
  4. Development of an associativity model for joint ventures.
  5. Promotion of ideas focused on innovation, community and productivity.

As a result of this program, it is expected to improve the quality of life of farmers and their families by increasing productivity, strengthening agrifood systems, implementing sustainable and scalable agro-productive models, reducing the environmental impact of operations, and providing access to soft loans.

"Conexión Raíz is a firm step towards strengthening agro-productive communities and their value chain, ensuring an impact through the transformation of agricultural and cultivation techniques to access new markets through business promotion," said María José Paiz, Manager of Fundación Bi.

This joint effort will contribute to building a more prosperous and equitable future for the communities of Alta Verapaz.

Together Always Forward!
