When we talk about education, we’re also talking about opportunities, hope, and the future. That’s why the Soy Líder Program is coming to the República de Panamá School as an initiative designed to help children and young people develop skills that can change their lives and open new doors for their families and communities.

The Bi Foundation and the Embassy of Panama officially launched this program in Guatemala with the aim of strengthening essential skills such as leadership, critical thinking, teamwork, and personal responsibility among students and teachers.

The event was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador of Panama, Julio César Vidal Castillo; the principal of the República de Panamá School, Milagro Gudiel, Esq.; representatives from the Guatemalan Ministry of Education, FranklinCovey Guatemala, and the Bi Foundation; and students from the school.

More than just an academic activity, this initiative represents an opportunity to instill confidence, motivation, and life skills in hundreds of young Guatemalans.

Young people discovering new opportunities

Since its launch in 2023, the program has helped thousands of students and teachers in Guatemala.

By 2025, more than 6,000 children and young people and 100 teachers from 13 schools had participated in the training program and received the international “Leadership School” certification.

Small actions that can change lives

When a student learns to lead with empathy, manage their responsibilities, or work as part of a team, they also begin to have more confidence in themselves.

For example:

  • A young person who improves their communication skills may feel more confident when expressing their ideas.
  • A student who learns personal responsibility can improve their daily habits and academic goals.
  • A child who discovers the value of respect and positive coexistence can become a role model in his or her community.

Often, the most significant changes begin with small actions and opportunities that leave a lasting impression.

An initiative committed to Guatemala's future

The launch of the program at the República de Panamá School is part of Fundación Bi’s efforts to promote sustainable opportunities for Guatemalan children and youth.

Every classroom that fosters leadership, empathy, and participation can become a space that inspires positive change for future generations.

Behind every student are dreams, goals, and families hoping for a better future. That is why investing in education also means investing in people who can transform their communities through values, commitment, and hope.

In 2026, Fundación Bi will continue its work to educate thousands of children and young people in Guatemala, strengthening educational environments where learning goes hand in hand with personal growth and holistic development.

When a community comes together to support education, it creates real opportunities that can change lives for generations to come.
