San José del Boquerón, San Pedro Sula, September 26, 2025. Since its inception, Banpaís has played a key role in the economic and social development of Honduras, consolidating in 2007 its integration into Corporación BI, one of the most solid and far-reaching financial groups in the region.

Throughout its history, Banpaís has demonstrated a strong commitment to the community through the Napoleón Larach Foundation, contributing to social welfare and inclusion.

At the regional level, Fundación BI, the social arm of Corporación BI, has positioned itself as the entity that channels institutional efforts towards the generation of opportunities for growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship, promoting integral wellbeing and sustainable prosperity.

In this context, a new initiative was officially launched in partnership with One Laptop Per Child and the Zamora Terán Foundation, reinforcing their commitment to promote development with impact throughout the region: the educational program "One Laptop Per Child - Conecta Aprende", at the José Trinidad Cabañas School, located in the San José del Boquerón Village.

Recent studies reveal that 8 out of 10 children in Latin America do not understand a simple text and that, in the wake of the pandemic, education systems are facing the most serious crisis of the last century.

In response to this challenge, this initiative marks the beginning of an innovative educational model that incorporates technology, teacher training and comprehensive support to transform the teaching and learning processes and the delivery of XO PRO computers for 208 students and 7 teachers at the school.

The Conecta Aprende model is based on a comprehensive approach that combines:

- One computer per child (1:1 with XO PRO laptops).

- Training and pedagogical support for teachers.

- Technological sustainability.

- A system of continuous monitoring and evaluation.

In this way, a deep, sustainable and measurable impact is guaranteed in the beneficiary educational communities.

"For Fundación Bi it is essential to support education because we know that through it development is generated, fulfilling the purpose of Corporación Bi. With this initiative we seek to open doors to knowledge, innovation and a future full of opportunities," said María José Paiz, General Manager of Fundación Bi.

With this first intervention in Honduras, Fundación Bi and Banpaís reaffirm their commitment to quality education and social transformation, marking a historic step towards building a future with more opportunities for children and youth in Honduras.
